BOARD LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY | GRAND RAPIDS / WEST MICHIGAN
Eye Care for Detroit, Inc., doing business as Eye Care for Michigan , is expanding its Board of Directors as we prepare to establish a greater presence in Grand Rapids and West Michigan in 2027.
We are seeking three highly connected, mission-driven leaders who are passionate about expanding access to vision care and helping shape the next chapter of a growing statewide nonprofit organization.
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience and relationships in one of the following areas:
• Philanthropy & Community Investment — foundation leadership, corporate giving, major gifts, nonprofit development, family philanthropy, or strong relationships within the West Michigan funding community.
• Media, Communications & Public Engagement — journalism, broadcasting, public relations, communications, public affairs, community storytelling, or significant public-facing leadership in West Michigan.
• Healthcare & Clinical Leadership — optometry, ophthalmology, health systems, community health, or related clinical leadership with strong West Michigan relationships.
Ideal candidates will bring more than professional expertise. We are looking for individuals who are willing to actively engage, open doors, build relationships, strengthen community visibility, and help Eye Care for Michigan become deeply rooted in West Michigan.
Our mission is simple but ambitious: to improve access to high-quality eye care for underserved and homebound residents across Michigan.
As we grow from our Detroit foundation into a statewide organization, we believe West Michigan should not simply be a market we serve—it should have a meaningful voice in how Eye Care for Michigan is governed and built.
If this opportunity aligns with your experience, network, and passion for community impact, we invite you to reach out directly or share this opportunity with someone who should be at the table.
